this wedding, in a forested ranch outside of the dalles was a few years ago, but I have always loved this photo.  I'm posting it here because I choose it for my ad in the Bravo Wedding Guide 2011.

jen and dan are engaged and here's some of my favorites from our portrait session at the forestry center.  when i met them it was pouring buckets but we waited under our umbrellas and in true oregon style the sun peaked out just in time.  :)  i can't wait to see how these two stylies throw a wedding!

jen and ivan: engagement session on the beach

one of my bestest friends, jen, tied the knot recently with her love, ivan.  i took these "engagement" style shots at cannon beach, the day before their wedding.  jen wanted to take advantage of the sunset light that we wouldn't have at her high noon wedding.  good idea.  sunset light is...well i can't even express my love.

 ivan can only wish that jen had an afro with bangs.  :)

are you that cool of an oregonian to have recognized haystack rock in the back ground?  get out!

engagement photos

we shot this engagement session at the japanese gardens on one of those summer days that april gave us this year.  these two were lots of fun and kept cracking me up.  it was easy for me to catch them having a good time and the gardens were so beautiful it really wasn't too much work for me!  in order to have some portraits with their dog we walked around the rose garden beforehand.  their wedding is planned for this summer at a vineyard outside of mcminnville.  i'm looking forward to that wedding for sure!  :)

i spent 5 days in san francisco a few weeks ago for an excellent digital workflow photography workshop and got to catch up with my friend mel pilbin and her partner rebecca.  i gave them a portrait session for hosting me.  thank you, you are both really beautiful.  :)
