i got to spend 3 week this march in the states of oaxaca and veracruz, mexico. beautiful, kicking, vibrant places to visit and photograph. i've been sifting through and editing my photos as i have time between jobs and am finally getting some final images ready to blog about.
toward the end of my stay i was welcomed into the family home of my friend, coca, who i work with in PDX and who was visiting her family during the same week down in the humid port city, veracruz. i took these portraits of her nieces and nephews as a thank you for their hospitality. !mil gracias a la familia higa mora! !que lindos nietos tienen!
this portrait session was a true play date. these clients wanted candid "boys being boys" shots and it was great to photograph their kids just having a good time with no smile pressure. my favorite new toy: a box of buttons. seems like something your grandma might have in a drawer? oh, no. its for sitting in, scooping up buttons and pouring them out again. it's refreshing to see kids unplugged and so engaged by the simple things. :)
i'm a born and raised oregonian and besides my camera, i love frisbee, kids, coffee and day dreaming about the next stamp on my passport.
i hope you enjoy my work.
i am so lucky to have a job where i can be creative and work with warm people everyday. i take great pride in my work and know that you will be fully satisfied with your photos. my complete wedding and portrait portfolios can be viewed on my website. please don't hesitate to email me with any questions.
