jen and ivan: engagement session on the beach

one of my bestest friends, jen, tied the knot recently with her love, ivan.  i took these "engagement" style shots at cannon beach, the day before their wedding.  jen wanted to take advantage of the sunset light that we wouldn't have at her high noon wedding.  good idea.  sunset light is...well i can't even express my love.

 ivan can only wish that jen had an afro with bangs.  :)

are you that cool of an oregonian to have recognized haystack rock in the back ground?  get out!

adoption family portraits: albany oregon

jason and stacey are both awesome people who work with kids and are so happy to have adopted their first child: son, braxton. they wanted to document his first year with a portrait session and some of our mutual friends bought this family portrait session for them as a gift (photography makes a great pregnancy or baby shower gift!)  this family was so happy and loving, i really enjoyed frolicking in the sun with them, and their little one has the most scrumptious smile.  welcome, braxton!

These two cuties were part of the large family portrait session below but I took a few of them separately while everyone was getting ready to head to the park. What a sweet connection this brother and sister share!

I've shot this cute Camas, Washington family before and they called me back for some family photos while everyone was in town for oldest daughter, Kallie's, high school graduation.  I love how sweet Kallie and her mom are in this one.  

and yes, even though they aren't the most exciting of images, I do shoot the obligatory large family portraits.  usually people want both the candid individual and small groupings as well as the larger group. I do it all.  :)
